I MAKE HEIRLOOMS.
I document moments that make you feel something.
I AM A ROMANTIC.
I DO NOT TAKE CHEESY PHOTOS—and I do not use CANNED shotlists.
I CAPTURE HUMOR AND ENERGY AND CANDIDS.
I LIKE TO ride with the bride, drift through the COCKTAILS & dance at the PARTY.
I BELIEVE IN SURPRISES.
I understand the meaning behind your design and details.
I think rain on your wedding day is truly good luck.
I PAINT WITH LIGHT.
I CREATE art from your wedding day.
Over the past ten years, Kate Headley has emerged as one of the leading, most talented photographers in the country. Among her many accolades, she was named a best photographer by Condé Nast's BRIDES magazine, a top photographer by Martha Stewart Weddings and a top vote getter by her peers in Washingtonian Weddings.
Kate is incredibly proud of the unique weddings she photographs: from a summer camp in Ontario to a private home in Sag Harbor, from a family farm in Virginia to a historic inn in the Cotswolds, from a family's summer cottage in Michigan to a grand hotel in downtown Washington, she is continually inspired by her client's love stories and the special locations that she is so honored to document.
Formally trained as a historian and museum curator, Kate lives and works out of her 100 year old rowhouse in Washington, DC’s 16th Street Heights neighborhood. She grew up in Michigan and travels to her grandparent's farm in the Upper Peninsula every summer for inspiration.
Kate’s clients praise her relaxed portraits, candid moments, unobtrusive approach, humorous spirit and romantic, editorial vision delivered as heirloom albums and an easy digital download.
